It’s not always famous actors and models, it’s usually their friends, the people they spend the most amount of time with, the people they are the closest to. Have you ever heard the phrase, “You take from the character of your friend?” I have no idea who said this, but it really makes sense, especially in the society we live in today. Whenever my parents would warn me about my friends and peer pressure I would tell them I can make my own decisions. Although I held myself together for a while, high school came and slowly I began shifting towards what my friends thought was acceptable and began living up to societies view of a teenager. I would often hear my friends saying. “let’s go to this party, there’s gonna be beer!” My phone would be filled with texts sayings “Let’s smoke after school.” When you 're surrounded by friends who are constantly partying, drinking, and smoking, your views of what’s “ok” to do will change. You start asking questions like “What’s wrong with drinking, everybody does it.” and “Why is smoking so bad, I’m going to eventually die anyway.” At that point, I completely lost sense of what’s right and what’s wrong. I reached a state where I couldn 't stand being alone. I needed something to numb me or keep my mind occupied because I was too afraid to be alone with my thoughts. Everyday it would just get worse, my grades, my relationships, they all just began falling
