Anne Frank, a sixteen-year-old girl in hiding, withstands many experiences during the Holocaust. She and her family sheltered inside a secret annex during the ordeal, the Holocaust, arguably one of the most devastating acts to happen in history. During this time, she recorded her emotions, the situations the family experienced, her point of view and adulthood. Anne recorded the events in a diary transferred over from their old residence, labeled as ‘Kitty’. Anne, unfortunately, died from a concentration camp. However, this ‘Kitty’ had gotten published and presumably populated by her father, Otto Frank. He scanned the diary and constructed exactly how Anne felt about Peter. Furthermore, how she loves being around him. He also saw her perspective on the Van Daans, and how adults don’t quarrel with each other even though the Van Daans argued endlessly. The diary was just oozing with curiosity, feeling, and intent. Moreover, a peculiar entry had been located in the young girl's diary, that quotes: “In spite of everything, I still believe that …show more content…

Moreover, she still believes that she is a good person at her heart, “... yet I’m sure I’m not a bad person.” Earlier in the entry, she logs: “I’m seething with rage, yet I can’t show it.” Paradoxically, she says she is good at heart, she swears that she is, but from the exchanges in the play, she is quarreling and annoyed the majority of the time being. However, this makes the quote even more interesting, because of the fact that it isn’t just pointed at the Nazi’s, but at her own temperament as well in the

At the same time, Anne Frank’s diary makes it poignantly clear the ultimate shining nobility of that spirit.” Anne Frank’s diary shows the degradation of the human spirit in many ways. First, the people living in the secret annex are constantly fearing that the Nazis are going to capture them and bring them to a concentration camp. The play, The Diary of Anne Frank shows a theme that causes the readers to reflect less on the main character Anne herself and highlights the effect her words had on others. The theme of this play is to not focus on the negative side of a situation and focus on the positive. Anne shows this at the end of Act ll, lines 1372 and 1373 when she writes her last words in her journal. She writes "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart." By saying this, Anne is showing the theme by displaying how after everything that has happened, she still believes people are good at heart.…

As Annemarie develops through the story she struggles to identify herself, falling within a gray area between childhood, and adulthood. Throughout the story, she is often compared to her little sister Kristi an innocent child, or peter who she describes as “one who has taken his place within the world of adults.” (pg. 92). When we Develop as individuals we lose our innocence by learning how the world works; people starve, die, and kill others. For Annemarie, she loses part of her innocence when talking to German soldiers who enter her house, learning how violent they can be.…

When I first read Anne Frank's The Diary of Anne Frank, I was overwhelmed with grief and anger at the injustice and intolerance that had led to Anne Frank's death, but her honesty and the very existence of the book gave me hope, too. It was the first time I really understood the power of words an selfless acts: Anne Frank's words lived on, and they had the power to change lives, but one person stood out the most that was Hermine “Miep” Gies. We owe the existence of the book to Miep Gies, the tremendously courageous and just woman who helped Anne Frank and her family hide from the Nazis. Gies not only risked her own life to provide the Franks with food and supplies, but she found, saved, and eventually shared Anne"s diary. A secretary for Otto…
