Gender inequalities hurt women, children and men and we cannot afford to ignore structural inequalities. Oppressive systems hinder women economically, politically, and geographically, and as a result, developmental workers have to use their voices and advocate for women who are impacted. What I find to be effective is to include men in the helping process. Men tend to possess power both economically and politically; therefore, engaging with them is critical. We must work to change their ideology by teaching them the importance of advancing women and their human rights. We have to teach our young men the importance of valuing women. We must advocate for service delivery to be set up in a way that women and children human needs are met. Women must have access to educational opportunities, reproductive rights, political and voting rights. As development workers, we must help men embrace the human aspect of women because they are mothers, sisters, grandmothers, nieces, and daughters and to deem them unworthy hinders the advancement of all
