Pentagram In The Pagan And Wiccan Community

The pentagram is used in a few different religions from Wiccan and Paganism to the Satanic community, to even the Christian and Jewish religions. In this essay I will explain the meaning of the term and what it means to me, I will also discuss how it used in the Pagan and Wiccan community and if I would use it in my own practice. I will be discussing why it is important to know and any misconceptions me or any others have had with this term. The term pentagram came from the Greek word pentagrammon from 1825 to 1835 BC. But the earliest know use of a pentagram was in Mesopotamia at Ur of the Chaldee in 3500BC. It means that you can find all the elements in one place earth, air, fire, water, and Spirit. The five pointed star circled or not has some spot in every culture and religion even in Christianity most people put a five pointed star on top their Christman tree. The pentagram has a very rich and deep history dating back all the way to Ancient Mesopotamia and to the Knight Templar. It can even do different things like invoke and banish an element depending on how its drawn. The word pentagram is from the Greek word pentagrammon from around 1825 to 1835. But was first used in Mesopotamia in 3500BC. To me it is a representation of the four elements and Spirit and the circle represents the Wheels of the Years. I also use it to invoke and banish the elements. There are a few other cultures that use this the Christians representing the Five Wounds of Christ. The Jewish is symbolizes the archetypal forces. And I use it in my own practice as well, its my symbol of protection, its my representation of the elements and Spirit. This term is important to know because if more people knew the meaning and history we could over come the stigmata against it.
