At the Pentagon on September 11th, 2001 it was just another beautiful day at the nation’s capitol. No one could have guessed that 189 colleagues and staff of the Pentagon would have died in such a miserable way. The Pentagon has 131 starways and nineteen escalators. In 1972, the Pentagon was bombed causing $75,000 dollars in damage. The repair and renovation of the Pentagon was called the Phoenix Project. The Phoenix Project costed roughly $501,000,000 dollars. The first responders on that day hung an American Flag on a beam over the rubble. The first responders at the Pentagon dug through debris all night to find survivors. There were few survivors in the debris, sadly. The flags around the Washington Monument flew at half mast for a week after the attacks.
