I will focus on Penrose- St. Francis Hospital here in Colorado Springs, Colorado which is a non-profit faith based entity for the local community. If one were to review their website, even with the designation of a non-profit status they are consistently ranked at the highest levels for service. Penrose St. Francis was awarded the following:
• Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence in 2014, 2015, and 2016
• Americas 50 Best Hospitals Award in 2013, 2014 and 2015
• Women’s Health Excellence Award 2013, 2014, and 2015
• America’s 100 Best Hospitals for General Service Award 2016
• Americas 100 Best Hospital for Orthopedic Surgery Award 2014, 2015, and 2016

Penrose-St. Francis Health Services has been recognized as the only Colorado recipient of Healthgrades America's 50 Best Hospitals for 8 consecutive years, placing us in the top 1% of hospitals in the nation. There are only 12 hospitals in the United States to achieve this award for eight straight years.
Now Penrose hospital is basically situated around the corner from my place of residence, I distinctly do not like going to Penrose since they are sponsored by Catholic initiatives (beliefs) and they have a tendency to preach or attempt to instill their beliefs on you (and I am Catholic). Only been there twice and both times it was like……..! To be seen took an extremely long time, think we stayed in there close to 6 hours and there wasn’t that many people there at the emergency room, and it was early in the morning (around 1:00 am).
As individuals we have the right to make personal choices, and for me For-profit versus Nonprofit classification doesn’t really make any
