The narrator is Paul Sinclair who is an ex RAF pilot and was injured in a plane accident. As he starts to investigate into the murders he begins uncovering other issues. Jane Sinclair is Paul wife and was the reason for them moving into Eden-Olympia. She is a pediatrician who replaced Dr. Greenwood. Throughout the book she is compared to being or looking very young, however, everybody in Eden-Olympia seems to be very fond of her. As she takes on all the long hours she starts be more drawn to the Eden-Olympia ways. Dr. David Greenwood was the former physician there but happened to go on a killing rampage and ending it with himself. However, everyone mentioned that it was out of his character and he was much liked. Dr. Wilder Penrose is the private psychiatrist in Eden. He seems to sort of run most things there. He encourages others to act out violently to relieve stress in order to keep working. He built up this idea from his father boxing
