Penny Chapter 6 Summary

In chapter six we receive much more detail of the life of penny. She gives us the names of almost everyone in the story. She also explains who they are and the relationship she has with them. Her entire family is Italian and they prevent penny from talking and knowing Italian. Penny wishes to know Italian, but her mother tells her that it's appropriate to speak Italian in America. Since World War II was over Penny’s mother says that Italy was in the wrong side all this time, therefore, American people might hate Italians. The reason we get to know many characters from the story is because Penny’s mother is hosting dinner for the entire family. Uncle Dominic is Penny’s favorite Uncle because he is the only one from family that understands her. She describes him like a …show more content…
Uncle Dominic has two dachshunds dogs Queenie V and Queenie VI. Queenies I, II, III, and IV are dead and buried somewhere in the backyard. Moreover, everyone is called to dinner and everyone starts talking in Italian, which irritates Penny. In dinner they serve pasta and tomato sauce. Italians call pasta “macaroni” and tomato sauce “gravy.” Ellie Penny’s mother makes food like for an entire army. In the next chapter nothing interesting really happens, but in chapter eight we get to know the second favorite Uncle of Penny. Uncle Nunzio has his own clothing factory. Since war was over the factory went bankrupt because it used to be supply factory. Everytime Uncle Nunzio sees Penny he gives her cloth for and Ellie. Furthermore, when Uncle Nunzio finally gets to see her he suggest Penny to go to the factory for her new fall coat. Penny says that she has never been shopping because her Uncle Nunzio usually spoils her with new clothes. Then, she goes to Uncle Nunzio’s clothing factory to pick the coat. It was a special and expensive gift because it was a cranberry red with rabbit fur collar and muff. Out of nowhere Uncle Nunzio takes out another coat and it’s for
