In response to Hope, although the characters are not shown praying, I think it is assumed they are. Showing the characters praying might have distracted the viewers from what the director was trying to focus on. Scenes of the characters praying might lead the viewers to think one is more pious than the other. The film was focused on the wrong doings of each character. Judging them on their peity could possibly distract the viewers from realizing how flawed each of the characters were. Deciding which character is more relgious than the others is a difficult question which depends on ones definition of religious. One might say Simin is the most religious because unlike others, she had fairly pure intentions. Her only goal was to keep her family
