Caring
Lois Lowry once said, “Of course they needed to care. It was the meaning of everything” (The Giver). Lois Lowry is saying that the most important thing that we can do is care. We should always care no matter what the situation. Instead of thinking about the bad things that people do and ignoring them, just care for or about them. Caring is displaying kindness and concern for others. Caring should be the meaning of everything in life, in everything that we do, no matter what. The concept of care is portrayed through many different characters in Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games, and also with Francis Lawrence’s movie, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, but is mostly portrayed by the characters Peeta, Haymitch, and Katniss.

He proves that he cares for Katniss many times throughout the novel, The Hunger Games, by being kind to her and protecting her as much as he can. He gives Katniss bread, he joins the Careers in order to lead them away from Katniss, and he also protects Katniss by battling with Cato on top of the Cornucopia. Peeta says to Katniss, “It's not necessary. My nightmares are usually about losing you. “I'm okay once I realize you're here” (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire). This quote shows Peeta’s care for Katniss because he is saying that he always cares about her and that he always wants to be with her no matter what. Katniss is the only person that Peeta needs and Peeta does not want to lose her or else he would be
