Authority figures conspicuously impact character development in multiple ways. Figures of authority, their actions and advice can appear admirable to children; they end up influencing development due to the way a character aspires to be or liken themselves to the authority figure. When most of a character's life is spent surrounded by peers or close friends, a character will most likely suit themselves to this majority. As "Influences on Children's Social Development" illustrates, peers consist of one third of the most influential factors that contribute to development. With peers being an exceptionally large portion of contributing factors of development, it becomes extremely easy or even natural to be modified by this group.
