Peer Tutoring

B. The largest factor that affects my students learning is extensive gaps in attendance at school and in the education system. I have one student who just started school this year, one who was absent for two months, and several who miss regularly. A possible instructional strategy to minimize the negative affects absences have on students is through peer tutoring. In peer tutoring, the students are able to work with their peers who missed school and catch them up on the subjects missed. This is very beneficial when we have a student absent, we pair them with a peer who will tutor them in the subject until understood. An activity I manage peer tutoring in my classroom is creating a project at the end of a unit. Recently, the students researched
