As a peer tutor for the past two years in school, I learned to interact and communicate effectively with students that had trouble with certain courses. Often times, I found it difficult to teach, but I learned to overcome this problem by becoming more flexible with students as I realized that everyone learns differently. As a result, in order to be flexible, I learned to adjust to each individual’s learning style and ultimately, was able to transition this skill to classroom settings in which, I was able to assist a larger group of students. Overall, not only has peer tutoring taught me to be flexible, but the ability to help students learn has made me feel better as an individual.
Student Visual Art council
As the president of Visual Art Council, I am responsible for managing and funding creative activities related to the arts. Through this activity, I learned to communicate with large groups of individuals. Currently, the council holds about 40 members and as president, I inform others of current events.
