Peer Review Essay

Peer assessment is an innovative learning method that is featured at University of the People. This pedagogical model boosts motivation and expands challenges through the formation of communities in students. Along with the collaboration of the course instructor's professional classroom management, peer assessment transforms into a powerful platform (University of the People, 2016-2017). Peer review develops high-quality evaluation skills and promotes lifelong learning by bettering the understanding of the students in the assessment of work produced by others (University of Strathclyde Glasgow, n.d.). Peer review also prepares the students’readiness for future careers especially those who will be in leadership roles, by shaping their behaviors and cultivating learning skills that will initiate better performance (University of South Australia, 2016). Also, the conflicting feedback in peer assessment equips students with reconciliation skills by simulating a conflicting corporate environment (University of Strathclyde Glasgow, n.d.). Hong Kong people of different social classes have criticized the education system; the school system is only “built to ruin happy childhoods” (Lo, A., 2016). The education system is so horrible to the extent that UNICEF produced an advertisement to raise awareness of children’s right to play (available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6RvnwZRs0Q). Due to the above reason, I prefer to seek standalone strategies inspired by foreign researchers. “Quality decisions start with good questions” (Hong Kong Management Association, n.d.), I find integrating questioning techniques used in staff management useful; thus I ask a lot of questions when assessing an
