“No! I am not going to listen to you. I am going with my friends” Every parents fears a day when their children disobey them for a group of friends and most parents instantly agree that this is all because of their friends or because of peer pressure. Peer Pressure is the one word that most parents, teachers, wives used to “describe” someone who go with their friends. So the word is actually considered as negatively. Every person is independent and all have their own thinking and personality, but humans in this world is somewhat depend on each other, it is the rule of the nature. This is the reason because people associate the world with some adolescent teenagers and “good people”, influencing each other’s to bad behaviors, forcing everyone to drink, smoke, have illegal sex and so on but there is something that nobody notice. It is true that peer pressure is one reason for teenagers and regular people to turn around with their behavior. The meaning of peer pressure is not only to be negative or a behavior that is taken, so that someone can “Fit in”, there is also a positive side in it. Admit it or not, Peer pressure is a mighty force that we all do to each other (Peer Pressure). Peer pressure can greatly affect badly. Most critics argue that with bad group of friends with peer pressure can lead to disaster to most people, especially teenagers, who try to “fit themselves with the cool kids”. Yes, in fact it is try that it can cause bad influence on work environment, school life and even politics but the positives of it are often pushed away. In the Washington Post, Helen Coster claims that even though social norms have so much sway that it’s possible to get people to change their behavior simply by telling them what the norm is (Coster). So does peer pressure helps? The answer is yes. Peer pressure can be a great part to do both good, like providing solace, strength, devotion and many other positive experience as well as bad.
