In the beginning, Peer Mentoring was a program at my high school that I scoffed at and found to be rather idealistic. The thought that I could actually impact the life of somebody on campus seemed rather far fetched, I was so accustomed to creating a change to those who seemed abstract to me that I could not grasp the ideology of mentoring someone. However, due to my curiosity to see if it was an actual possibility, I signed up. What I expected were a plethora of mood and rambunctious teenagers who were infatuated with the idea of high school and were self centered, but what I received were children with dreams in their eyes and hope in their steps.
