I really love how Peer Ed is a break in my day. For example, I often get very stressed about tests, quizzes, homework and track. In Peer Ed, we are given the opportunity to talk about what you did over the weekend (highs and lows) or reading a couple pages of your favorite children's book to be evaluated the people in your class to help you become a better educator. I love in Peer Ed how we are always learning and often don’t realize it. In Peer Ed, we learn communication and teaching skills that are helpful in and out of the classroom. I love that we celebrate people’s birthdays. In high school, we don’t usually acknowledge people's birthdays because everyone is so busy and it's good to be able to eat a brownie and celebrate for the person. …show more content…

I went through the whole interview process in June. I remember when I was in 4th grade and the peer educators came to visit. I remember thinking that they were so cool because they were in high school and older. Now that I am a freshman in highschool, I realize how much of an impact you can make by spending an afternoon with elementary schoolers. I feel like a real peer educator because I know to listen and direct a conversation. We are constantly in a group setting and sharing ideas to make ourselves better communicators and leaders. 5.
