Peer Editing Analysis

It is always important to be a team player. You should look out for yourself but I believe it is our moral duty to help others as well. This is why I find peer editing absolutely essential and have also helped other peers informally with their papers. This was the first draft of my partners first paper. We were given a set of questions and tasks to help assist us in our peer review. I provided comments outlining these tasks that I completed in the margins of the peer edit.

To portray the struggles of the U.S. army during the Iraq war, the usage of non-invisible editing was essential to provide an insightful thought to the viewers. This was imperative as the film was based on a real-life incident and the use of “visible editing” would have been incapable of providing a sense of pragmatism to the viewers as it is considered to be more mainstream and commercial in cinema. The very first scene has a bomb disarming scene which demonstrates the acuteness of the war. There is almost no transition from the opening sequence to the scene where we are introduced to the main character of William. The juxtaposition of the death of one of the soldiers in the opening sequence and the introduction of William gives the audiences…

During this midyear, I have been working toward a smooth adoption of lean principals and tools. Principals such as creating value for clients by limiting the amount of touches and rework that must be done with any of my work objects in order to see it through to complete- taking ownership of the request whenever possible. I have been striving towards improving my overall quality, with few SDQA findings. Those requests that do come back with less than perfect quality, I have been continually taking those findings and writing them down, learning from the mistakes I made to eliminate them in the future. In terms of daily goals, I try and set reasonable handled and completed goals for myself based on the information we are given about the day, but am always striving to push myself to do just a few more work…

Area of strength An area of strength for my teaching practice would be the different teaching methods and multiple forms of literacy that I’ve included in the lessons, as I have been trying to do a different activity for each lessons, or includes visual, music, and videos in the lessons to give students different approaches to the contents. My mentor teacher commented the different tasks as “interesting and useful” for the students. The students…
