Peer assisted learning has many positive aspects. It can be hard to communicate through different levels. People who are very fluent in a subject can miss little things that can make a big difference in understanding what is being said. A peer tutor is, well a peer. They often have a similar track and can communicate from a learner level rather than a teaching level. A peer tutor can also show the learner that the information can be grasped, the peer can share their own experiences and struggles. We often use this method at my company to help struggling associates. An associate who may need help in one area of their role would be sat with someone who excels in the same position.
