When in a group or team that has a common goal in mind it is essential that everyone participating play their role in order for the group to succeed. Not everyone can lead but at the sometime not everyone can follow it is essential for the members of the group to play their roles as best they can in order for maximum productivity to be achieved. The co-hort and myself had to do a peer appraisal for all the members in the co-hort. I will assess the reviews my peers gave me and elaborate on how they came to these results and what I can do to be a more productive co-hort member.

I disagree with their ratings for a few reasons. A maintenance role refers to the actions of individuals to help preserve the relationships in a group. I displayed these qualities in many ways. For example, I was very encouraging with the members of my co-hort. I would be warm and friendly and very accepting of their contributions to the co-hort. I believe this attitude helped my members feel more comfortable participating in making group decisions. I would also constantly recognize members for their contributions or hard work within the co-hort. Recognition goes a long way and I wanted to make sure members of the co-hort felt like they were appreciated. Compromising is also a huge part of the maintenance role I displayed. When my own ideas were involved in a conflict, usually an answer to a quiz I would offer a compromise, which would create co-hort cohesion. These are just some reason I disagree with my co-hort in my low team maintenance function rating in team
