I’m interested in becoming a Peer Academic Leader because I have a passion in helping my fellow students succeed. One thing that two years at a community college and three semesters here at UNCG has taught me is that college has its ups and downs, but it really helps if someone is there that can be a guide when things get tough. Being a Peer Academic Leader is an important job because coming to a four-year institution the size of UNCG might be overwhelming to some students, and they might not know what resources they have at their disposal, so as a Peer Academic Leader I would be the person they could come to when they need help navigating around campus, around Greensboro, or help navigating the resources they have available to them.
