Peeing In A Pool Analysis

Decent Essays
Begin by writing a paragraph 5-10 sentences that summarizes or paraphrases what the article is about. It is safe to say that everyone has peed in the pool at least once in their life. However, very few people know how harmful peeing in the pool can be. Not only is swimming in pee gross, but it can turn into a long term health hazard. Most people tend to think that adding more chlorine to the pool will kill off all bacteria but what they don’t know is that when chlorine reacts with urine it forms hosts of toxic compounds. Some have been found to cause cancer. One study in Spain found more bladder cancers in some long-term swimmers. The only way to get rid of someone’s pee in a pool, is to replace the water completely. This often doesn't happen

How to Get a Good Workout in the Pool Working out in the pool might not seem like the most effective way to slim down and shape up, but a pool-based workout burns a surprising number of calories, boosts your metabolism, works every muscle in your body, and improves your over-all fitness level. Working out in the swimming pool is so effective because water provides natural resistance – as it is almost 800 times denser than air – so each movement that you make while submerged in water works your muscles harder than doing similar cardio- or strength-based exercise on dry-land. Getting Started Most people think that working out in the pool consists of jumping in and swimming a few lengths, but getting a decent workout in the pool requires a bit more effort. Training in…

She uses this example as a way to marginalize the difference between women and men comedy writers and comics. At one point, she questions if this was a test by the urinators; if you see the jar and ignore it, you are accepted. She dispels this theory saying “…they didn’t really give a fuck whether you came in the room or not” (Fey, 125) and that not all the men peed in jars; just a handful did. She then uses the peeing in jars theory as an argument for women in comedy.…
