The amount of microorganisms ranged from 0 to 325. The bottom of pedicure bowls had double or triple the amount of microorganisms of the side of the bowl. When studying the microorganisms it was found that none of the ones found are extremely harmful to the community. Microorganisms found ranged from Streptomyces which is the musty old smell in soil to E. coli which can cause food poisoning and kidney failure. The different bacterias present included gram positive bacteria and gram negative bacteria. Most of the gram positive bacteria was in clusters when under a microscope, found on the skin and in foods, may cause UTIs and acne. Most of the gram negative bacteria were rod shaped, found in the intestines, and feces and cause UTIs. It was found that there were many microorganisms in pedicure bowls and they all had different
