After completing high school, I hope to go to a college or university. Then continue on to a medical school in order to become a pediatrician. I have always known that I would like to be a part of the medical field because my mother had diabetes and my grandmother had stomach cancer. My desire to become a pediatrician grew when my second cousin was diagnosed with autism. Seeing him struggling to communicate his feelings and the result of frustration really upsets me. Another reason is that I enjoy being around children. Therefore, in my spare time, I often volunteer at an after-school program called Sunrise. My aspiration in life is to become a person who can make a positive difference in the community or make a change in someone's life.
This program attracts me because I enjoy taking challenging, rigorous course. In addition, I am quite shy so this is a splendid opportunity to interact with people. During the Summer Mentorship Program, I hope to expand my knowledge in the medical field and acquire more experiences.
