When focusing on clinical rotations you have a certain dress code that you have to follow and it also applies to when you become a pediatric nurse practitioner. In general, any nurse’s dress code no matter what your specialty is will always be scrubs. Scrubs are shirts or tunic-style tops and trouser combinations (Britt, pg. 2). Anything regarding hair, piercings, and tattoos are included in dress codes for clinical settings and hospitals (Dusseault, pg.2). If any of these things aren’t covered up or put away then it is seen as distracting to the patient.
