Pedestrian Accident in D.C. Claims Life Of Restaurant Owner
WJLA is reporting that a prominent restaurant owner was killed in a pedestrian accident. Armin Amin-Toomaji died from injuries sustained when a car struck him as he crossed the street at Ninth Street and P Street NW. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene of the accident. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
Deaths From Pedestrian Accidents Increasing
The Centers for Disease Control reports that 4,735 individuals died in pedestrian accidents during 2013. This averaged about approximately one death every two hours.
