Freire said that this makes (Freire para 5) education become an act of depositing, in which the students are the depositories and the teacher is the depositor. Freire also point out that instead of communicating, the teacher issues communiques and makes deposits, which the students patiently receive, memorize, and repeat. According to the Freire institute, Paulo Freire was born in 1921 in Recife, Brazil. In 1947 Freire first began to work with adult illiterates at Northeast Brazil.It was at the University of Recife in the early 1960s that he became more passionate about an educational movement to deal with the massive illiteracy problem his country was facing. Hence he wrote the “Pedagogy of the Oppressed”. In his essay on Pedagogy of the Oppressed, Freire breaks down the concept of education with the analogy of the banking system called “ The Banking concept”. His believes are that the more fortunate looks down on the less or the so called oppressed people through there believes of how they learn and what they know. Freire makes references to the social behaviors of the so called fortunate, (para 10) The oppressed are regarded as the pathology of the healthy society, which must therefore adjust these "incompetent and lazy" folk to its own patterns by changing their mentality the concepts of welfare. Freire then further made the connection between education and society, when he spoke about, how the oppressors view the oppressed. Freire stated that, (para 11)”the oppressors lie in "changing the consciousness of the oppressed, not the situation which oppresses them," for the more the oppressed can be led to adapt to that situation, the more easily they can be dominated”. This simple means the more you keep the oppressed from being educated, the more you can dominate them. And this has happen thorough history, where the so-called educated minority, lead the less fortunate in the path they have outlined and not one full of thoughts and discussion.
