Pedagogy Learning

The differences that I have found in andragogy and pedagogy learning are that andragogy learning is basically adults learning and pedagogy is the teaching of children. Andragogy learning is more or less you learning on your own with guidance from an instructor. Pedagogy learning is learning that is taught by a teacher or instructor. With the andragogy form of learning the student is more independent as to with pedagogy way of learning you are taking the teachers way of thinking. In pedagogy, the teacher usually decides what is to be learned whereas in andragogy the instructor and the students decide together what is to be learned. In andragogy way of learning, you are often reliant on your peers' input, rather than on the instructors input alone.
The similarities in the two types of learning are that in both instances something is being learned and individuals are being taught. ( Bethel University, 2013)

I believe we all can benefit from lifelong learning. I come from a very small town in East Tennessee and the older people here are very set in their ways and think once you graduate from high school that is all you are ever going to learn. Now that technology is a big part of life especially with our younger generations, I can really see where lifelong learning comes into affect. Every day there is a new app coming out or a new device we have to learn how to work. In recent times if you want to be up to date on the technology you have to open yourself to lifelong learning.
