People of America began their daily routine. Many were going to work, children were

going to school, or others for a walk through the neighborhood. No one knew if they were going to return home or if it was the last time to see their loved ones. It was a

typical morning, like no other but two tragic important days that will always be remembered in American History are, Pearl Harbor and 9/11. What’s so similar based on these two events? What are the comparisons? Similarities are both events were from foreign attacks on American land and people were feared of follow-up attacks. Differences were each event had a significant target and Pearl Harbor was based on military and 9/11

To start off, the Japanese planned to attack Pearl Harbor. While the Islamic group planned to attack the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Washington D.C.. Therefore, both used air transportation but each had a different “sponsored’’ attack. For example; “the Japanese attack was a government-sponsored attack using significant force strength. There was a whole naval task force, 360 planes, six aircraft carriers that launched this attack. Whereas in 9/11, it was a nongovernment-sponsored attack, involving 19 people with four aircraft.” ( Wichita State University, Kleinsasser ). This explanation shows how the Japanese used their own aircraft to attack Pearl Harbor. While the Islamic group boarded four airplanes and hijacked them, using the planes to hit significant targets ( Twin Towers etc. ). Made all Americans feel the torment and resentful
