America has always been advertised as a land of the free therefore when people see actions and words that put their freedom at risk the y do what they think is right, and the Federalists of their time believed that there is no way to guarantee that any government would be perfect and that belief itself sparked the portion of the First Amendment that gave the citizens living under the government that was made by the constitution the right to assemble, as a way to have their voices heard. Where there is a free society there is bound to be problems as everyone was born, raised, and thinks very differently from one another, but protests especially those that are peaceful create echos from community to community each saying to each other that, "this isn't right, we need to do something about this". All of this ultimately gives me the perspective that peaceful protests empower communities and assists in the advancement of a free
