Peaceful protesting is good for humanity because it can cause a powerful change where nobody gets hurt. During the Civil Rights Movement a group of laws was created known as Jim Crow laws. These laws were made as a result of a court case that said “segregation didn’t violate the constitution.” Therefore, segregation in the United States became a “normal thing.” However, many people did not agree with these laws because it was wrong. Some may argue that violence or aggression is more effective in getting what you want. And, in some cases it has proven just that. However, nonviolent boycotting, freedom of speech, and protesting have shown throughout history to be beneficial and successful. One does not have to use aggression to see change take place.
