The twins were little over six months old when the crown prince was forced to leave the resistance, and Lloyd realized that he could not take care of the twin girls by himself, so when an old friend of his offered to help him raise the girls he agreed. Over the next five years the two men raised the twins in the relative peace in the sanctuary of the Gods Garden, while the rest of the country descended into complete and utter chaos, without their knowing.
