Hank!! It was our pleasure! We appreciate you, Chris, and the rest of the team, for all you have done for our family. I look forward to staying in contact, catching up, and learning more from you. You are a wealth of knowledge and a special person. I would love you pick your brain and share "my story" with you in more detail.

To answer your question - I had just turned 13 at the time of the crime (Whittany was 8), and I am now 28. I was in my freshman year of college when we last met during the PCR trial. My memories of the team include; a visit to Columbia where we were interviewed by Drucy and Dr. Cooperlewter, being interviewed by Chris and Drucy at the Marriott Hotel in Spartanburg, showing Kamell the slideshow video I made, and our lunch

WOOSTER — Family members, longtime friends, fellow pastors and law enforcement officials gathered in the basement of the Wayne County Justice Center recently to wish a tireless worker farewell as he headed into retirement. “His heart was always in the right place,” Capt. James Richards said of the Rev. Lee Anderson, the chaplain of the Wayne County Jail for the past 41 years who was retiring. Richards read a passage from the New Testament about how Jesus thanked his followers for feeding him, caring for him, clothing him and visiting him in prison. Not recalling when they ever did those things to Jesus, his followers asked when did they do it.…

He was sentenced to life in prison, just nearly escaping the death penalty because he was under 18 years old and not considered an adult yet. He was convicted due to false confessions or admissions and informants saying that he committed the crime. Thanks to the Innocence Project, Christopher was able to get out of jail after 28 years, but 28 years in jail is still a very long, life changing time for an innocent person who did not deserve to be locked up. He will have psychological effects from this for the rest of his life and his families’ lives have been completely changed from going 28 years without seeing him and wondering if they would ever see him again. Without the Innocence Project helping Christopher out by looking at his case and doing another DNA test which helped set him free, Christopher may have been in prison for the rest of his life, dying there, and never being able to see his family again.…
