Although I am not entirely certain about what path I want to take once I graduate, I know what I love to do. I love interacting and collaborating with people and the PCA major fits my passions and strengths. I have a great interest for public speaking, event-planning, and new media. The communications major offers a wide variety of courses, which allows me to explore the field and step out of my comfort zone. I have learned so much about myself through the communications classes I have taken and they've actually inspired me to do much more out of the classroom.

This winter, one of my colleagues and I decided it could be a neat idea if we applied to become Her Campus Chapter Correspondents here at SLU! Her Campus is basically an online magazine

I have obtained not only extensive marketing and general business knowledge through self-studying for competitive tests, but also practical communication, presentation, and sales skills while representing various business professionals in judged roleplay scenarios. I have placed at the district, state, and international level in my events, and this year I will have competed at the International Career Development Conference for my third year. These experiences give me a good foundation of understanding business concepts, and I plan to learn more about how businesses operate in the global market through the Business is Global program at the Kelley School of Business.…

Since my freshman year of high school, my passion for agriculture has flourished. I did not come from an agricultural background as my parents worked for the State and Amtrak, but I was intrigued about California’s leading industry. Up until my freshman year in high school, the closest I had gotten to agriculture was when I would grow a garden of vegetables during the spring for fresh produce. I became involved in my school’s FFA chapter and was infatuated with the FFA from the start. I saw it as a way to become involved as well as to expand my leadership and social skills.…
