2017 is an intriguing year for the Redskins for a multitude of reasons. Kirk Cousins now is in the midst of a long-term contract negotiation, his top two wide receivers left via free agency, the Redskins defense is coming off a historically bad season, the new defensive coordinator Greg Manusky along with the team’s new additions is having positive reviews so far this off-season, and the front office is fresh out of a messy divorce with their former general manager Scot McCloughan and made an in-house replacement with Doug Williams under a different title. All this to say, what happens in 2017 is of paramount importance, and can shape the near future of the organization. On September 1, 2017 at approximately 6:21PM I, Sergeant George assisted by Deputy Davis and Deputy Gamm checked en route to 1900 County Road 2260, Mineola, Texas, 75773 in to a disturbance involving a gun. Upon arrival I made contact with a 14 year old female, later identified as Haley Williams sitting outside of the residence driveway in a grassy area. Haley Williams stated she is the daughter of the suspect in this case, Sidney Williams and she was the one who originally called her mother and told her to call 911. Dred Scott was slave who sued for his liberty in the Missouri courts, arguing that four years on free soil had made him free. He was once owned by army surgeon John Emerson. Dred Scott’s attorney argued that between 1831 and 1833, John Emerson had taken Scott with him during various military postings to areas where the Missouri Compromise banned slavery, making Dred Scott a free man. When nearly after six years in the Missouri courts, the state Supreme Court rejected this argument in 1852, Dred Scott, with the help of abolitionist lawyers, appealed to the United States Supreme Court. In the mid 1830’s, a surgeon in the U.S. army named John Emerson bought Dred Scott from Missouri to serve him while he went went off to perform his military duties. Later after moving several times, Emerson bought an enslaved female named Harriet. He permitted for the marriage of Dred Scott and Harriet and then they had two children. After Emerson died the Scotts saved money for several years in an attempt to buy their freedom from Emerson’s wife; she declined. Dred Scott then attempted to sue Sanford in state court claiming that since he had lived in a territory where slavery was banned, he was free.…

BRADENTON -- Authorities hope to make a positive identification Monday on the body of a child found in a freezer in a Bradenton home late Sunday. Bradenton police believe it's the body of 11-year-old Janiya Thomas, whom authorities started looking for last week. The girl's mother, 31-year-old Keishanna Thomas, has refused to cooperate with a judge and is being held in jail on a contempt of court charge. On Sunday night, police received a tip that Janiya Thomas' body might be located in a freezer at the girl's aunt's and grandmother's house in the 5000 block of 21st Way E. According to the Bradenton Herald, police say a man and Keishanna Thomas moved the freezer into the home on Wednesday.…

Originally the Boston Braves, in 1933 they changed their name to the Washington Redskins despite it’s head coach ,‘Lone Star’ Dietz, being native american as well of some of the players. In 1936 the team relocated to Washington DC. They never changed the name from the Redskins despite it being out of date.…

In the articles “Three Cheers for the Nanny State,” “Ban the Ban!,” and “Soda’s a Problem but…”, all three authors present their arguments with facts, opinions, and counterclaims. However, one article presents itself better than the rest. I believe that the article “Soda’s a Problem, but...” was the most convincing article.
