Pursuing A Scholarship Essay

Personally paying my way through college is just the start of the many complexities I endure as a young adult. It’s mentally challenging to put aside the worry and stress of paying for my particular degree, all while wondering if I’ll even be able to have some saved up for my career after college. My major is Acting in the Bachelor of Fine Arts and that alone is quite a risky major within the college and out in the real world. It is a dream that guarantees less of a secure, consistent and long lasting career, but I truly love theatre with all my heart and those thoughts are the reason why I’m sharpening my skills at the University of Arizona. As of now, I am relying on multiple scholarships, some that support me for one school year in which regardless I am forever grateful and others that support me as long as I am reaccepted in to the acting program. Everything is really on the line for me. Thankfully, after two successful auditions, this coming year will be the last year that I’ll need to re-audition into the program in order to keep one of my scholarships. And though I live a good twenty minutes away from my college, my parents and I have decided that with my major being Theatre, it would be wiser if I focus solely on staying in the program with late night rehearsals and performances.
