Essay On Tuition Rates

It’s a Monday afternoon, and I am sitting in my dorm looking deeply into my laptop computer. Going to a state university had always been my goal; ever since I was a small kid in an elementary classroom I had my plans in order. I always had the idea of going to a University and being choosing a career I wanted. I knew this was the path to a successful future. Although then, it was a goal for a distant future. Now I sit here in a dormitory at Arizona State University, I did it, I accomplished my goal. Although now there is something that I never really paid attention too, or something I just never realized could impact this goal of mine to attend a university. For students like myself, parents and anyone that plans on being involved in a university this is a major issue. Tuition rates like this are not only hard on the students who have to pay them, but many of the times they are a decisive factor on whether a person will continue an education for a better future. There are thousands of intelligent minds that never have the opportunity to show what they are capable of because they couldn’t afford too. If we as a country are denying education to students who can’t afford to pay the extremely high tuition rates, then we should not consider ourselves a dominant world power. If we really stop and think about it, what is the probability that one of those students could be the ones to find a cure for cancer, HIV or even stopped world hunger? Well I guess we will never now their true talents, because only the rich should have the opportunity to have an impact in our world today, right? To me this is completely idiotic and a clear segregation based on your economic status. Those who disagree clearly have the money to pay these incredible tuitions, or are just really uninformed on what is going on in the world around
