Many people either believe that they do not have what it takes to change the world, or they just simply do not have the motivation. They do not know what qualities a person needs to have in order to make a difference. It is essential for a citizen to be passionate about what they want to do to promote change so that they have the motivation to work hard and persist. Pay it Forward is a movie about a little boy who is given a school assignment that asks him to try and change the world. The boy, Trevor, has the idea to show kindness to three people so that each of them spread kindness to three other people and so on. As Trevor kept working on his idea, he got more passionate about it and shared it with his classmates. His classmates laughed at him, but he kept trying. This shows how he persisted because he believed in his idea so much. Trevor worked hard in order for his plan to succeed by reaching out to a homeless man and setting his alcoholic mom up with his teacher so that she is not lonely and has a good influence. In the end, his passion shows when he stands up for a boy getting bullied and gets stabbed in the process. It is later shown how many people were affected by his story when people come to his house holding candles in his honor. In the novel, All American Boys, an …show more content…
Joshua was disturbed about how many starving children there are and wondered why more kids weren’t helping the issue go away. He decided that he wanted to change this and started a foundation so that kids can help other kids who need food. He and his friends worked hard to hand pack and hand deliver the food. It was hard for Joshua to get support in the beginning because people did not think that he would be able to handle it since he is so young. The foundation is now thriving because Joshua persisted and got the help he needed for the cause he believed
