In our book the Down to Earth Approach to Sociology by James M. Henslin, pay gap is said to be one of the most remarkable gender inequalities at work. The book also explains that pay gap is the difference between what a male is paid and what a woman is paid. In the united states woman are paid 73 percent of what men are paid. As the book continues to talk about pay gap, it explains possible reasons why there is a pay gap. (Henslin, 2017) These reasons include career choices, and woman are not usually as good as men at negotiating salary.
The first reason brought up in the book is career choice. The book says it is possible that woman is more likely to choose lower paying jobs. For example, the book talks about, teaching. Teaching although
