Paul's insistence made Helene lower her eyes to meet his glare. Other patrons titled their heads, with eyebrows arched, in the direction of his voice. He sat back firmly in his chair, arms folded over his chest holding in his anger, "My family is farmers but I left years ago. I told you before and I wish you would remember." She dabbed the napkin at the corners of her mouth, "I'm sorry, I forgot. Perhaps that's why you shouldn‘t marry me. I have a bad memory. I may even forget that we are married."
"You have other qualities that make up for it," Paul said as he eased the stiffness from his body. The patrons’ eyebrows and bodies also reclined.
