In The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo we come across two characters, Santiago and the Englishman, whom are going on a journey to pursue their personal legends in dissimilar ways. In the beginning of the book, Melchizedek’s oil story is told and the two characters have different approaches. Santiago’s approach to the story would be that he’d be the one more focused on his surroundings rather than then the end goal. The englishman’s approach to the story would be the complete opposite, where he would be focused on small details and determined the reach the end goal.The differences are apparent, that one would be very cautious and meticulous whereas the other would be distracted by their surroundings and how things work together.
