Paul Rand’ graphic design career began in the 1930’s. He is well known for many corporate logos with one of the biggest being IBM. In his interview with John Maeda he answered questions about different aspects of design. He believed that there is no single definition of design. Every person can see each design differently. According to Paul, a design is not complete without both form, content, and aesthetics. Designing with aesthetics means to that a designer has an appreciation for what goes into each of their designs. Paul Rand does not think that there is a difference between a designer and an artist.
