The song “Yesterday written by Paul McCartney and released by the iconic band The Beatles in 1965 is one of my favorites. It is a slow melodic song, McCartney provides the main vocals. He talks about losing his love not fully understanding why and the aftermath of losing her and how hard love is.. While it’s a fairly short and simple song it has such powerful emotion and beauty.

There are some music elements or principles that i noticed in this song. First there is sound the beautiful dynamics in the slow tone of Paul McCartney’s voice it is part of what makes this a great song. Also we can hear tone color from the string quartet that accompanies McCartney’s voice in the song. Next there is rhythm we can tell that the tempo in this song

I think the song "Running from the Scene" by Manic Bloom somewhat relates to the prison industrial complex. One of the song lyrics says "wish that I could rewind and start over”, which talks about regret. When a person is in jail they might regret their actions or have a personal self-reflection about themselves. The prison kind of helps people to self-reflect. Therefore, they don’t commit criminal actions again.…

Have you ever heard a song that portrayed negative stereotypes surrounding a particular gender or sexuality? Singers or bands tend to utilize gender or sexual scripts within their music in order to perpetuate their beliefs or relate to a larger crowd.
