Paul J. Kim Analysis

The first topic Paul J. Kim talks about that affects me is how people are not perfect. Adam and Eve ate from the tree that God told them not to eat from, leaving people born after them with original sin. Original sin is passed down when someone is born and can be taken away with Baptism. This is how other types of sins were let into the world. Sometimes, we just do things without thinking about how it will hurt others close to us and affect our relationship with God. God only put two perfect people on Earth: Jesus and Mary. They both lived without sin and act as an example for everyone to follow. Jesus is perfect because He is God; Mary is perfect because she committed to be the mother of Jesus and never turned away from him. God knows that everyone makes mistakes and has bad days because nobody is perfect like him. Another topic that is important to me is that God forgives our sins. God forgives us for our sins because He loves us all equally. God gives everyone a second chance to do the right …show more content…
This is part of the Catholic mystery that is taught to us ever since we are little. It is still hard for people to understand the Blessed Trinity even after hearing about it repeatedly. Jesus is God because He performed some miracles, like when He turned water into wine at the wedding at Cana. Another miracle Jesus performed was when He made Lasiurus rise from the dead. Jesus was also able to forgive the sins of His disciples. Jesus is also truly God because He died on a cross for us to free us from sin and opened the gates of heaven. Jesus is truly man because God sent His only Son down to Earth. While on Earth, Jesus formed a group of followers called disciples, who He taught how to live a good life in faith. He is also truly man because He is normal like every other human. This is truly an amazing idea that shows how important Jesus is when we look at him as man and

The Bible tells us to be perfect as our Heavenly Father is perfect, Matthew 5:48. On the other hand Romans 3:23 reminds us that man falls short of the glory of God. While only God is holy and separated from all evil, we as humans are created with a conscience which allows us to distinguish right from wrong. Additionally, we are given a set of commandments to guide us through our decisions. Although we cannot ever attain perfection, Jesus reminds us throughout scripture that as we seek to know God our flesh becomes one with His word.…

Would it not be great to be able to prevent conflict altogether? Not having to resolve any disputes, or differences, and having complete harmony. It would be amazing; however, conflict is part of life. We may not be able to prevent it all the time, but we can be prepared to resolve it in the best manner possible. Authors, Ken Sande and Kevin Johnson, share their knowledge in their book titled, Resolving everyday conflict, providing a Christian view on conflict resolution (Sande & Johnson, 2011).…

Jesus Christ is the true God in human flesh. As stated in the beginning, everything was made in God’s image. Jesus proved to be the true image of God because of His actions and the way He lived His life until His death on the cross. As said in Colossians 1, Jesus is also stated to be the creator of all things. In the passage John 1, John states that “all things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made” (John 1:1-3).…

This week’s discussion topic asks us why our view of atonement is critical to our view of Scripture and how it can impact our view of humanity. How we view atonement has an impact on how we view God and Christ and the importance we put on each of them. McRay gives the common definition of atonement indicating that it is the “satisfaction or reparation for a wrong or injury; amends,” and theologically as “the doctrine concerning the reconciliation of God and man, especially as accomplished through the life, suffering, and death of Christ” (McRay, 2003). Without this atonement, we are incapable on our own of ever having a relationship with God due to our sins. It is the only thing that makes it possible for us to be reconciled with God.…
