Paul Howes started his management career with Flint Ink Corporation, where he worked for 5 years as the Vice President and General Manager of the company’s Packaging division. In 2002, Mr.Howes started Astaris LLC, a chemical company. He sold Astaris three years later, and moved to Newpark in 2006. Mr.Howes immediately took on a leadership role at Newpark, becoming President and CEO, while also joining Newpark’s Board of Directors. Mr.Howes is also a board member for the American Petroleum Institute, Inc. Mr. Howes’ has prior experience in a wide variety of industries, including the defense, packaging and chemical and plastic manufacturing industries. Mr. Howes also has prior work experience with companies including BFGoodrich Specialty Chemicals, and Martin Marietta Aerospace. On the side, Mr.Howes partakes in private investing and consulting. Airola came to Newpark with 22 years experience as an attorney. Prior to Newpark, Mr.Airola held his first management position at Cooper Industries, a manufacturer of electrical products. At Cooper, Mr.Airola held the role of Senior Litigation Counsel, where he was responsible for handling all environmental regulation matters. The company later promoted Mr.Airola to manage all of its ligitation. Subsequent to his tenure at Cooper Industries, Mr.Airola ventured to BJ Services Company, a pumping and oilfield service provider for firms in the petroleum industry. In October 2006, Newpark recruited Airola to become the company’s VP, General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer. Two months later, he became Newpark’s Secretary as well. He has also served as a Director of Newpark’s Drilling Fluids, LLC since that same year. Mr. Airola graduated from Baylor University in Texas with a combined BSM- Accounting and Finance Degree, and also earned his JD from University of Houston’s Law
