Paul Hevsinkveld's Life Story

At this event Paul Hevsinkveld told his life story about how he left home with his brothers and finished high school in India. Then he came home and graduated from college at Hope in 1972. It then tells about how he went into the navy. He now lives in Holland. He then told about how in 2001 he went to Kuwait and how the things happening there were very scary and intense. He then told about the calvary story, Missionary Women, and Eleanor and her story and how it positively impacted his life. This event did not have a communicative focus. It was more focused on his story than telling how he communicated with the people around him. A way that he could make this event more communicative would be to tell more about how he communicated and interacted with the people he met. From there he could have told what type of impact that communication had on his life and if it was hard or easy to communicate with the people he met along his journeys. The biggest communication topic used in this event was public communication. We know this because public communication occurs in a one speaking to many atmosphere. So when he is telling his story to all of the people that showed up to his event he completes this aspect which makes it public communication. He also has what he is going to say pre planned and constructed with care which continues to show us that it is public communication. The Calverley story also showed public communication because it was one story that reached many people and taught them about a story.
