Patty Mills was born on 11 August 1988 in Canberra Australia. Mills was one of the first indigenous Australians to play professional basketball. He is a professional Indigenous basketballer in the NBA. His father is a Torres Strait Islander and his Mother is an Indigenous Australian. Mills was exposed to basketball when he was 4 when his parents created a basketball team called the shadows. Mills went to Marist College Canberra where he played a variety of sports. Mills also played football, in 2004 he was selected to represent the Australian Capital Territory under 16 where he was awarded best and fairest. When he was 15 he was selected for the ACT under 18 basketball squad to compete in the Australian National Championships. His real name is Patrick Sammy Mills. Mills wanted to follow in Daniel Kickert footsteps who was the first freshman to start for the Gaels and the Gaels all-time leading scorer. Kickert and Mills went to Saint Mary’s college of California. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patty_Mills In 2003 he won MVP in the Marist all age’s basketball tournament, in 2004 under 18’s national championships representing ACT, in 2009 he was drafted by the Portland trailblazers, in 2012 he signed with the san Antonio spurs, in 2012 he has his first starting five game with the san Antonio spurs, in 2012 April 26 mills had a career high 34 points against golden state warriors, at the 2012 London Olympics mills had a highest scoring average 21.2, in 2012 he made the ESPN second five and in 2014 he won his first NBA championship with the san Antonio spurs against the Miami heat.
