Abstract
This paper addresses the patterns of illness and wellness of a 75-year-old woman presented to the Emergency Department at New York Medical Center with complaints of chest pain. Patterns of Health and illnesses are influenced by different factors such as age, gender, geographical location, social status, genetics, familial history, education and environment. Some of health behaviors that include physical activity, tobacco use, alcohol consumption and diet choices affect the patterns of health and illnesses.

Health promotion patterns for the patient include following medication regimen, well controlled hypertension, annual vaccination, timely diagnostic tests (mammogram, colonoscopy, PAP test, bone density test), and regular visits to cardiologist. Patterns of illnesses include unhealthy diet choices, little physical exercises, smoking and alcohol abuse, chronic constipation, and familial history of Breast cancer, HTN, Cardiovascular disease, and Diabetes. Patient eats regularly in fast food restaurants; this increases the chances for high blood pressure, Hypercholesterolemia, Type 2 Diabetes, Depression, Osteoporosis and Atherosclerosis, and some cancers.
