Some Political Patronage is legal. This situation can be seen through the role of President or Prime Minister in the appointment of government officials. For instance US constitutions, President has power to appoint any individual to assumed the position of the government such as appoint personal advisers without congressional approval. Most of the individuals appointed as government officials tend to be supporters of the president. Political leader have a great deal of patronage when they are authorized to make decisions regarding the appointment of government official. In addition, patronage is power recognized by the branch of executive. However, Political Patronage could violate ethical and context of the constitution when the political leaders involved with nepotism and cronyism as non-competitive awarding government contracts to her or his friends or family
