I was born in North Carolina on April 4th 1998. Where I grew up listening to an album titled Patriotic Country it is full of various artists such as Lee Greenwood, Martina McBride, Kenny Chesney and others. It was a compilation produced in response to the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001. I also grew up going to visit my cousins and grandmother in Northern Virginia where almost every time my family would visit our nation’s capital. I have also been on various trips to twenty-six out of the fifty states. On all of these trips and experiences I have learned what it means to be a citizen of the United States of America, and how proud I am to be an American.
My country is home to a vast land of great diversity that one can’t find anywhere else. The U.S. is home to glaciers, mountains, desserts, beaches and tundra. Wild life that can only be found here. I have also visited five national parks and many other locations managed by the park service. While I have visited many beautiful places in the world nothing beats the majesty of Denali national park and waking up to Mount McKinley towering over the clouds.

Those experiences in other countries show me how the melting pot of the US works today. I love meeting new people and learning about different cultures. I also appreciate the richness of culture coming together in America. We have found a way to come together to form the American spirit that you don’t find in any other part of the world. In Shakopee, Minnesota, I went to middle school with kids who moved here from Russia, Mexico, Kenya, Cambodia and numerous other countries from all over the globe.
